The City of Onkaparinga offers a wide range of funding opportunities to help stage festivals, events and projects which benefit our communities.

For the 2017–18 financial year, through our various grants and sponsorship programs, we have awarded more than $491,000 to support local groups, not-for-profit organisations, schools and businesses.

Applications will be accepted from Monday 29 January until Monday 19 March for the 2018-19 funding round for the following:


  • Community Grants
  • Public Place Improvement Grants
  • Community Training and Development Fund*
  • Environment Grants
  • Every Generation Onkaparinga Grants
  • Local Heritage Incentive Scheme*
  • Minor Capital Works and Facilities Grants.


  • Tier 2 – Festivals and events
  • Tier 3 – Community events and Christmas and carols events.


  • Sport and Active Recreation Donation Program (open throughout the year)

Small Business Grants*

We are also OFFER three business grants funded through the ON Business Partner Program. Grants up to the value of $3000 will be awarded in the following categories:

  • start-up businesses
  • marketing and communications
  • digital innovation projects.

*Applications for these grants are open all year. Please refer to the individual grant guidelines for full details.

Grant writing workshops

Four grant writing workshops will be offered to support organisations with preparing their grant/sponsorship application. 

Woodcroft Morphett Vale Neighbourhood Centre

Places are allocated on a first come basis. Maximum of 15 per workshop. FREE. Bookings required.


How to apply

Read the guidelines carefully and complete and submit an application form by Monday 19 March 2018. Applicants will be advised by late June for funding after 1 July.

A budget template is provided to help groups develop their application budget.

Is your organisation incorporated?

If your organisation is not incorporated or not recognised as a legal entity you will need to get an incorporated organisation to auspice your project/event.

A completed auspicing form must be submitted as a part of your grant/sponsorship application.
