Love Aldinga

Council conducted a public art survey in August 2017. When asked how people felt when spending time in Aldinga Township, Happy and Relaxing were the top responses. Many respondents expressed their appreciation for proximity of services, ability to shop local while living in a township with low lying buildings. Feeling connected to the surrounding environment and having a clear skyline was important to many.

Love Aldinga is a public art project for Old Coach Road.

Six artists have been chosen to develop heart-shaped sculptures, providing a dynamic point of interest for locals and visitors alike.

Limited only by the imagination of each artist, the hearts may be painted, welded, sculpted, glued together, and potentially even danced upon!

The six hearts will create an art trail encouraging people to explore and experience everything Aldinga Township has to offer.

Commissioned artists:

  • Brian O'Malley
  • Henry Jock Walker
  • Warren Pickering and Anna Small
  • Allan Sumner
  • Introducing Rachel Cearns (managed by Toff and Cara West - Home Grain Bakery).

Toff and Cara will act as project managers along with South Australian public artist, Andrew Stock, who will provide expert advice and connections to local fabricators and installers.
