Candle Workshop. ‘Little Candle’.

This artwork is a memory of the candle factory opposite.

Prior to electricity, everybody needed candles! The day-time image is of the candle workshop featuring an extinguished candle. The night-time scene is a dark landscape with a solitary window lit with a single candle.

There was a candle factory nearby on Corn Street in the 1970’s. The owners ran the business until 1975 the factory had a serious fire.

Brightly little candle sending forth your light
For you flame is glowing in my heart tonight
