The City of Onkaparinga is a vibrant and creative place which hosts and sponsors a huge array of exciting events each year and is actively involved in over 180 events annually produced by robust Arts, Community, Libraries, Sport and Recreation and Tourism programs.

These community events include the McLaren Vale Vintage and Classic, Fleurieu Film Festival, Willunga Almond Blossom Festival, A Day on the Green and many others which deliver significant benefits to tourism and the local economy.

These major events attract over 240,000 visitors annually and contribute an estimate of $11 million dollars into the economy. This annual major events calendar includes stages of the Santos Tour Down Under which winds its way through the region in January each year, the Beachside Food and Wine Festival which showcases of our region’s finest offerings by the sea and the tier one sponsored Sand Sculpture Exhibition, a spectacular display of themed sand sculptures carved by some of the world’s best artists of the craft. These events are scheduled on an annual basis by the City of Onkaparinga and advertised broadly once approved.
