The 2016 City of Onkaparinga Christmas Pageant was deemed a huge success with an estimated 8,000 spectators braving the heat and lining Beach Road, Christies Beach on Sunday 20 November. The street came alive with magnificent marching bands, festive floats, clowns, elves and jolly Santa himself with more than 1,200 people participating and making their way towards the Christies Beach Esplanade. Spectators were so impressed with the quality of the floats this year, stating they were the best they had seen!
Christmas in the Park at Rotary Park offered an afternoon of family focussed activities including live music, market stalls, roving entertainment, face painting, a children’s petting zoo and photos with Santa!
Visitors finished off their afternoon of festivities by cooling themselves down on the Beach. It certainly was a great day spent in Christies Beach by all visitors to the region, both local and intrastate alike.
The 2017 City of Onkaparinga Christmas Pageant will be held on Sunday 26 November, so save the date in your diaries – it’s sure to be a magical day!
Applications to participate will be released mid-late 2017.
