Aldinga Township road and development projects 2016-17

A number of road and infrastructure construction projects are underway or planned in Aldinga Township and the surrounding areas over the months ahead.  This is part of Council’s continued commitment to revitalise our townships and improve the safety, amenity and function of our roads in the southern suburbs.

There are also a number of projects being delivered by others including private development and the Main South Road upgrade by Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI).

Please refer to the map below for project information and contacts on the following projects:

  • Old Coach Road (Council)
  • Tuit Road intersection (Council)
  • Aldinga Township streetscape upgrade (Council)
  • Port Road East (Council)
  • Bowering Hill Road/Port Road intersection (Council)
  • Quinliven Road upgrade (Council)
  • Main South Road upgrade (DPTI)
  • The Village development (private)
  • ALDI development (private).

We are continuing to work with DPTI and other relevant agencies to ensure a coordinated approach to project planning, communication and traffic management to minimise impacts on local residents and businesses and ensure up to date project information is available to stakeholders over the months ahead.

Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure a much improved safer road network that better meets the changing needs of a rapidly growing Aldinga area.

Information on the map below is open to change and will be regularly updated.

Aldinga Township streetscape upgrade

Notice of One-way traffic restrictions along Old Coach Road north of the Port Road / Old Coach Road roundabout : 10 November to mid-December 2017

Streetscape works in the Aldinga township are progressing well and we are aiming to complete the bulk of the roadworks in the township before the end of December.

We will be commencing kerbing and road pavement works along Old Coach Road (north of the roundabout to the creek) on 10 of November aiming for completion by mid-December. One way traffic restrictions will apply during this time, with traffic only flowing in a northern direction. Detours will be in place and bus companies have been notified.

Business a ususal

The most important message we want to send to the community is that it’s business as usual in the township despite the traffic restrictions.

We ask that you please keep supporting the businesses in the area, despite the temporary inconvenience.

Detour signage will be provided for traffic around the road closure and current one-way.

This project along with others planned in the next few months along Old Coach Road will transform the area, and provide fantastic access and amenity for everyone.

We ask for everyone’s understanding and patience as we transform Aldinga Township to cater for the growing popularity of this great location.
