Children & families

We work with children and their families to strengthen communities by improving social and emotional wellbeing. Together with local community groups, human service organisations and businesses we support community capacity and leadership to create sustainable quality of life outcomes. We celebrate the valuable diversity of families in our region.

We aim to:

  • celebrate children and families by providing opportunities for them to come together, connect and celebrate community and family life
  • build strong families by providing information to children and families on programs and services based on personal and family development
  • create strong community voices by improving opportunities for children and families to influence the planning and delivery of projects
  • inform delivery of services and support innovative approaches to our work through good practice.

Some of our current initiatives include:

  • Participate and Learn Skills program (PALS)
  • Family and wellbeing program
  • Annual Rural Family Fun Initiative
  • We attend and support the following networks within our city:
  • Children and Families Roundtable
