Native vegetation

We know it is important to conserve our remnant native vegetation, and schools can get involved by planting indigenous plants within your grounds. This provides habitat for native animals, increases biodiversity and reduces water consumption.

Please remember that planting of appropriate species takes planning and time. You may need to allow more than one year for propagation and site preparation. We can provide a list of native species for your area, grants and information about remnant vegetation or put you in touch with organisations that can provide you with technical advice or assistance.

Take a look at our biodiversity page for some more information.
