Activities for people with disabilities

The Disability Program offers group based community, social and recreational activities. One to one support is NOT provided. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • have an NDIS package
  • be a City of Onkaparinga resident
  • be between 18-65 years of age
  • participants to be independent in their personal care, medication administration or specialised meal time management requirements.

Shed / Shedtastics (additional criteria)

  • adults with an acquired brain injury
Day program Monday/Tuesday fortnightly

7 hours (may vary)

Day program meets twice a month - Mondays fortnightly or Tuesdays fortnightly. Activities and outings are based on participants' interest and include: sport, day trips, cooking, arts and crafts.
 

Dinner club

5 hours (may vary)

An evening dinner group having a meal together at a local venue once a month.
 

Evening outings

5 hours (may vary)

An evening group outing based on participants' interests. Could include: discos, games, significant public events.
 

Shed Monday/Wednesday weekly

10am-2pm

A Shed based program for adults with an Acquired Brain Injury.

Meets Mondays or Wednesdays weekly, 10am-2pm, based at Elizabeth House, Positive Ageing Centre.

Activities include: upcycling, recycling, basic carpentry, mosaics, and board games. 
 

Shedtastics practice Monday weekly and Shedtastics performances

1-2pm

A singing group for adults with an Acquired Brain Injury.

Rehearsals are Monday weekly, 1-2pm at Elizabeth House, Positive Ageing Centre.

Performance times & locations vary.
 

Walking group weekly

1 hour

Walking group meets weekly during school terms on Wednesays, 12.45-1.45pm at the Noarlunga Bus/Train Interchange. The walking group is registered with the Heart Foundation as 'Walkie Talkies'. Walking speeds and distance vary.
 

Aqua Movement weekly

45 minute Water exercise classes. Meets Wednesdays weekly, 2:15pm & 3pm during school terms on at Noarlunga Leisure Centre.
