Disputing your expiation notice

Parking Offences

If you believe you have a defence to the alleged offence on the expiation notice you may lodge an:

  • Online Expiation Dispute Form
     
  • Write to us (including your contact details, the expiation notice number and vehicle registration) at the following address:Community Rangers Administration

  • Note: verbal disputes will not be accepted.

 

A statutory declaration in the prescribed form PDF icon png Statutory Declaration (74K) is required in the following circumstances:

  • If you were not the owner OR driver of the vehicle at the time of the offence
    (the Declaration must provide the date and time of sale along with the full name and address of the person you sold the vehicle to or full name and address of the person who was driving)
     
  • If the vehicle was broken down at the time of the offence
    (the Declaration must provide the date and time of the breakdown, cause of the breakdown and a copy of any invoice for repairs which shows the vehicle registration, the date and description of the repairs or if the vehicle was towed, a copy of the towing invoice or letter showing the time of the towing request or report to your roadside service agent)
     
  • If you were involved in a medical emergency at the time of the offence
    (the Declaration must provide the date and time of the medical emergency, reason why it was necessary to park illegally and a letter or medical certificate from the doctor or other witness statement that supports your claim.
     
  • If you are a Disabled Permit Holder and your permit was not displayed
    (the Declaration must include a copy of the disabled parking permit, statement confirming you were the driver or passenger in the vehicle at the time of the offence)
     
  • Other reason
    Please be specific as to the reason and include any written evidence or documentation that supports your defence.

Please attach any supporting evidence ie photos or other documentation to the Statutory Declaration. 

The application for review of the fine must be received by Council before the due date for payment specified on the expiation notice.
