Seaford District Centre Development Plan Amendment


The Minister for Planning on 25 July 2014 approved the Seaford District Centre DPA.

As required under the Development Act 1993 the Minister placed a notice in the Government Gazette published on Thursday 31 July 2014 to formalise his approval.

The Amendment was consolidated on 14 August 2014 into the City of Onkaparinga Development Plan. A copy of the Onkaparinga Development Plan can be viewed online at under ‘Online development plans’.

What are the changes to the Onkaparinga Development Plan?

The Seaford District Centre DPA has updated the Development Plan’s District Centre Zone, Seaford Policy Area 10, as well as replaced the Seaford District Centre Concept Plan.

The area affected is generally described as the land situated east of Commercial Road, north of Griffiths Drive, west of the new Seaford Rail Corridor and south of the storm water detention basin and Somerton Court in the suburb of Seaford.

The key changes included removal of retail floor space caps and an improved variety of land uses to guide the future development of the Seaford District Centre in light of current and impending residential growth in the area, duplication of the Southern Expressway, the extension of the Noarlunga rail line.
