drumMUSTER

rinse them out, round them up, run them in.

drumMUSTER is a drum disposal and recycling scheme that offers Australian agricultural and veterinary chemical users an easy, environmentally-friendly way of disposing eligible, empty agvet chemical containers.

drumMUSTER collects eligible metal or plastic chemical containers relating to crop production and animal health products used for:

  • agricultural and livestock production
  • industrial and recreational pest and weed control
  • forestry
  • household pest control operations
  • similar activities conducted by government authorities.

All the plastic drums are recycled and remade into useful products, such as fence posts, wheelie bins, irrigation pipes, bollards and bar stools. The metal containers are recycled through the normal metal recycling process.

There are specific requirements for dropping off drums.

  • Participating manufacturers are identified by the inclusion of the eligible drumMUSTER container logo on their containers. The logo may be displayed: on the chemical label, stamped into the container wall or applied as a sticker. Containers that do not show this logo may be from non-participating manufacturers and may not be accepted at the drop-off.

  • Containers must be empty and rinsed out in order to meet health & safety requirements in the collection and recycling processes. Containers that have not been properly rinsed can be classified as hazardous waste and not be accepted at the drop-off.
