  • These CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

Vacuum cleanerVacuum cleaner

  • These CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

    Vacuum cleaners can be recycled with other electrical items.

    Extension cords and power boards can be recycled with other electrical items

  • Umbrellas are a mixed material item and cannot be recycled.

    Please place in the red/waste to landfill bin.

 

HoseGarden hose

  • Garden hoses are a mixed material item and cannot be recycled.

    Please place in the red/waste to landfill bin.
     

 

Green bags'Eco' / green bags

Cloth bags are a textile and cannot be placed in the yellow/recycling bin.

There are two options for disposing of these bags:

  • Place in the red/waste to landfill bin

OR

  • Recycle them by dropping them off at Coles Supermarkets in the soft plastics recycling bins.

     

 

BootsCardboard box

  • Cardboard boxes can be recycled with other paper and cardboard items.

    Please remove as much tape as possible and flatten box before placing in the yellow/recycling bin.
     

 

Plastic storage containers and traysPlastic storage containers and trays

  • Plastic storage containers and trays can be recycled with other plastic containers.

    Place in the yellow/recycling bin.

 

PoisonsPaints and solvents

  • These CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

    Paints and solvents are hazardous and must be treated before appropriate disposal. Please hand these in at a hazardous waste collection.

Paint tins - empty

  • Empty paint tins and lids can be recycled along with other steel and aluminium items.

    Wipe out as much paint as possible and place in the yellow/recycling bin.

Paint tins – paint hardened in tin

  • Small amounts of paint can be left to dry and harden in the tin. If the dried paint cannot be removed, please place in the red/waste to landfill bin.

 

Plastic containers - weed killChemicals

  • These CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

    Chemicals are hazardous and must be treated before appropriate disposal. Please hand these in at a hazardous waste collection.

Chemical containers

  • Empty plastic chemical containers can be recycled with other plastic containers.

    Please empty completely, flatten bottle if possible and replace lid loosely on the bottle. Place in the yellow/recycling bin.

 

Plant potsPlastic plant pots and seedling trays

  • These can be recycled with other plastic containers.

    Please ensure pot is empty of dirt and plant material before placing in the yellow recycling bin.

Ceramic and terracotta plant pots

  • These cannot be recycled. Please place in the red/waste to landfill bin.


     

 

BootsBucket

  • Plastic buckets can be recycled with other plastic containers.

    Place in the yellow/recycling bin.

     

Power toolsPower tools

  • These CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

    Power tools can be recycled with other electrical items.

For disposal, you can:

  • Empty power tool cases can be recycled with other plastic containers.

    Please empty completely and place in the yellow/recycling bin.
     

 

RopeRope

  • Rope, string or twine cannot be recycled as it can become caught up in the machinery at the recycling sorting facility.

    Please place in the red/waste to landfill bin.

OilMotor oil

  • This CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

    Used motor oil can be taken to the following facility free of charge:
  • SRWRA (Southern Region Waste Resource Authority Landfill Operation), Bakewell Road, Seaford Heights

Take your oil in a clean, plastic container with a lid - the original container is perfect. Avoid using paint cans or other metal containers.

Both oil and container will be recycled.

 

Wheels and tyresTyres

  • These CANNOT be placed in any kerbside bins.

    Contact a local waste disposal site for disposal options.
